Message from the Supervisor…….
Currently, South County's trail coverage is one of the most extensive in all of Orange County. Many individuals choose to rollerblade, bike, run, hike, and walk on these beautiful trails. The trails throughout Orange County are a combination of Class I, Class II, and Class III trails that are challenging and enjoyable to all who use them. Used for both recreational and traveling purposes, the residents of South County continue to utilize and cherish the natural and constructed trails.
I believe one of the best qualities about these trails is the large amount of open space that has been maintained. I have worked diligently to assure that the quality of life in South County has been preserved. In creating these multiple trails, we can enjoy the natural wildlife without disrupting the surrounding areas. The work that has gone into creating these paved and natural trails has been a combined effort of community input and wildlife agencies.
Likewise, there are a number of regional parks in South County that residents equally enjoy. These areas are used daily for picnics, birthday celebrations, family outings, and recreational sporting events. Surrounded by the natural wildlife of Orange County, we are all able to enjoy these regional parks without destroying the natural habitats of the animals and plants that live there.
I have created this section on trails and parks in South County in order to insure the safety and preservation of our home. It is vital that we all continue to be aware and observant of the natural beauty that surrounds us. Keep on trailin' through South County
