Message from the Supervisor…….
I remember - as I know some of you do - when the idea to enhance our already beautiful harbor was just that…an idea.
It was 1997, and despite torrential downpours, we braved our way through flooded streets to spend many long evenings talking about the Harbor and looking at how best we could rejuvenate the area. We all worked together and today we have a plan that truly reflects our combined vision for a family-friendly harbor that maintains the area's original spirit and character.
We've been fine-tuning that plan, and while we are getting closer to a final design, we're not finished yet…not by a long shot.
We met with merchants, boaters, homeowners, residents, civic groups and other community members to gain additional feedback and make sure that everyone's ideas and suggestions go into the plan.
As I've emphasized so many times since this project began, enhancing our Harbor is a team effort - a true partnership between you, the City and the County of Orange. We can't accomplish our goals independent of each other. Together we can accomplish great things.
