Board of Supervisors Appoints Thomas G. Mauk

Mauk joins the County with an extensive background in public policy administration, management and experience at all levels over the last 30 years.

(Santa Ana, CA) On June 11, 30 County employees graduated from the Orange County Leadership Academy conducted at Chapman University. County Executive Officer James Ruth initiated the Leadership Academy in January along with other management initiatives and a restructuring of County government.

(Santa Ana, CA) - Wednesday morning the Board of Supervisors will honor volunteers at the eighth annual Countywide volunteer recognition ceremony. More than 26,000 volunteers donated 942,097 hours of service valued at approximately $24 million in avoided costs for County government in 2003.
(Santa Ana, CA) - County Executive Officer James D. Ruth today appointed Edward Corser as Deputy CEO/Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Corser follows Interim CFO Fred Branca who has served in that position for the last 12 months. Corser’s appointment is effective May 17.
(Santa Ana, CA) - The Orange County Board of Supervisors has appointed Raymond Mathe to the position of County Surveyor as part of the Resources and Development Management Department (RDMD). Mathe is a Professional Land Surveyor with 22 years of experience in government, cadastral and geodetic surveying. The appointment is effective April 8.
Orange County’s Chief Engineer Receives ASCE Award

(Santa Ana, CA) - Ken Smith, Director Public Works/Chief Engineer for the County of Orange Resources and Development Management Department, was honored with the Engineer of the Year Award on February 19 from the Orange County Branch of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE). ASCE is a professional association with more than 130,000 members worldwide.
(Santa Ana, CA) - “Sample ballots, mailed last week to Orange County registered voters, list candidates’ names for federal and Green Party contests in an order that will not match polling place ballots,” said Steve Rodermund, Orange County Registrar of Voters.
