County of Orange Returns to Investments
Grade Rating

(SANTA ANA) – Moody’s Investor
Service, a leading New York bond rating agency, announced
this morning that it has returned the County of Orange
to an investment grade rating. The County lost its investment
grade rating with the 1994 bankruptcy and has been working
toward this milestone since last year’s emergence
from bankruptcy.
(SANTA ANA) - CEO Jan Mittermeier announced
today that the County of Orange is readying an appeal
of the decision issued this afternoon by Judge Judith
McConnell of the San Diego Superior Court. Today’s
decision in the litigation brought against the MCAS El
Toro Community Reuse Plan Environmental Impact Report
was basically unchanged from the tentative ruling issued
October 10. That ruling found for the petitioners on a
number of issues and for the County on a number of others.
Agency to Demonstrate Access to
Statewide Computer System

Orange - Orange County Social Services
Agency, Children and Family Services Division will show
how joining the statewide computer system will benefit
the efforts of social workers at 10 a.m. Thursday, 840
N. Eckhoff Street, Orange.
(SANTA ANA) - To increase service to
the public through the support of volunteers, the County
of Orange has hired its first volunteer coordinator, Jane
Dawson, an experienced volunteer program manager and a
volunteer herself, announced Jan Mittermeier, County of
Orange chief executive officer.
(SANTA ANA) - Seventeen outstanding
representatives of volunteerism throughout the County’s
departments were recognized by the Board of Supervisors
at its April 15 meeting. Supervisor Jim Silva explained
that "in post-bankruptcy times when our budget is
stretched like a rubber band, it’s people like these
who allow us to continue providing a high level of service.
We’re incredibly grateful to them."

in the United States (Table). Close contacts include a)
household members, b) day care center contacts, and c)
anyone directly exposed to the patient's oral secretions
(e.g., through kissing, mouth-to-mouth resuscitation,
endotracheal intubation, or endotracheal tube management).

Mittermeier appoints final Assistant
Chief Executive Officer

(SANTA ANA) - County Chief Executive
Officer Jan Mittermeier has appointed the County’s
Director of Information Systems as interim Assistant CEO
for information and technology. Leo E. Crawford, Information
Systems director for two years and a County employee for
10 years, assumes his new responsibilities immediately.
