Supervisors Take Oath of Office on January 3

(Santa Ana, CA) - Returning Supervisor Bill Campbell and newly elected Lou Correa will take their oaths of office as Orange County Supervisors at 9 a.m. Monday in the Board hearing room of the Hall of Administration, 10 Civic Center Plaza in Santa Ana.

Correa succeeds First District Supervisor Chuck Smith, who retired after 20 years of public service. Correa, has served three terms as Assemblyman for the 69th District. As Supervisor he will represent the cities of Westminster, Garden Grove, Santa Ana and unincorporated Midway City. He and his wife Dr. Esther Reynoso-Correa and their four children live in Santa Ana

Correa will receive the oath of office from Judge Frederick P. Horn, Presiding Judge, Orange County Superior Court.

Campbell was re-elected in March to represent the Third District which includes Anaheim, Brea, Irvine, Orange, Tustin, Villa Park, Yorba Linda and the unincorporated areas of North Tustin, Orange Park Acres and Orange County’s Canyon communities. Campbell and his wife Mary have lived in Villa Park for 25 years. They have three adult sons and one granddaughter.

Judge Michael Brenner, Supervising Judge of Superior Court’s Civil Panel, will administer the oath of office to Campbell.

The invocation will be delivered by Monsignor John Urell of St. Norbert’s Parish in Orange. The benediction will be said by Venerable Thich Chon Thanh of Lien Hoa Temple in Garden Grove.

Tom Wilson, Chairman of the Board of Supervisors, will emcee the event which is open to the public.
