(Santa Ana) – Approximately 125 Santa Ana students will shadow officials from City and County government on Wednesday to get a first-hand look at the business of government. It’s the third year that the County of Orange has joined the City of Santa Ana in giving students close-up experiences in a variety of County and City agencies.

Students will sign up to spend the day in areas including Board of Supervisors’ offices, Public Defender, County Counsel, John Wayne Airport, Assessor, Probation, Public Facilities and Resources, Registrar of Voters, Social Services Agency, and in the County Executive Office in Human Resources, Real Estate and Risk Management.

In addition to the shadowing experiences, students may take part in tours and demonstrations that include the County’s data center, Santa Ana’s Police Department and the Ronald Reagan Federal Building. The following are three special events.

Sheriff’s Department Laser Village 10 a.m. 1900 W. Katella, Orange

Sheriff’s Department Crime Lab 10 a.m. 320 N. Flower, Santa Ana
