The Marshal’s Department Today

The Marshal’s Department has grown from its small beginnings to become one of the four largest police agencies in Orange County. It is one of only two agencies remaining in the State of California in which a Marshal’s Department provides all court-related security services.

Under the leadership of Marshal John E. Fuller, the Marshal’s Department is at the leading edge of County Law Enforcement The Marshal’s Department is currently authorized to employ a total of 463 personnel, including 375 sworn Deputy Marshals and Court Services Officers. It provides county-wide operations, with offices located at eight different locations throughout the county. Oversight is provided by a select group of Judges and the Marshal, who make up the Joint Marshal Personnel Committee, which acts as a board of directors for the Marshal’s Department.
