The City of Anaheim shares some
similar history with the Marshals Department.
In 1870, Anaheim appointed its first town
Marshal, while still a part of Los Angeles County.
Orange County would not form until 1889.
In 1872, Marshal Charles Lehman was
summoned to a disturbance to quell a card game fight
that involved the Marshal. Marshal Lehman was the
victim of gunfire that erupted between two of the men
involved in the fight, and died two days later.
