Borrowing Rules

WHO CAN USE THE ORANGE COUNTY PUBLIC LAW LIBRARY?
  • The Library is open to everyone and serves the legal research needs of residents and the local legal community.
HOW CAN I OBTAIN BORROWING PRIVILEGES?
  • The library offers several categories of membership. The two most common are individual registered attorney and resident. For other types of membership, see Borrowing Rules.
  • Fill out brief application and show proof of residency in orange county (e.g., driver's license) or show proof of law office location in orange county.
HOW much are the membership fees?
  • Membership fees:  

initial deposit - $100 - Deposited into non-interest bearing account; refunded upon written request when account is closed. 

Annual Dues/Fees  - $50 per year - non-refundable.  CASH OR CHECK ONLY.                                                                                                                                       

HOW long does material circulate?
  • Materials circulate for 14 days
  • Fines are $1 dollar per day, per item.
  • looseleafs, citators and reference materials do not circulate.
  • renewal of materials is not available
