Services Division's primary mission is to keep the
Orange County network safe and operational. Our area
of responsibility extends from support of the County's
Internet connectivity through transport delivery at
agency points of presence (POPS). We also take security
policy statements from the Chief Information Security
Officer (CISO) and wrap operational implementation
strategies around them.
CEO Telephone Services provides voice communication
services to 18,000 County employees using the Orange
County Telecommunications Network, known as OCTNET.
With over 22,000 phone lines and network connections,
this extensive network routes calls efficiently at a
minimum cost, or at no cost for agency-to-agency calls.
Centralized voicemail and Automated Attendant services
are provided to complete the communications needs for
all county employees and the public.
Agencies look to Telephone Services for more specific
needs such as Automatic Call Distribution, Integrated
Voice Response, and Voice over IP to assist the public
by handling calls efficiently and promptly as possible.
Child Support Services, Registrar of Voters, Housing
and Community Development, Sheriff, and Superior Court
all look to Telephone Services for advice and product
information for the most cost effective solutions.
The County operators handle calls from the public and
County employees. They work 8:00AM to 5:00PM every day
that the County is open for business. Requests range
anywhere from assisting callers, to finding lost pets,
to applying for a marriage license. Operators are trained
to understand caller’s needs and assist them with
finding the telephone numbers for County, State, Federal,
City and non-profit offices.
