The Ninth Annual Volunteer Recognition is a celebration of the accomplishments and contributions of volunteers who have partnered with County of Orange agencies and departments in serving local residents. This partnership demonstrates the importance of citizen participation in building strong, healthy communities.

During 2004, 19,223 individuals volunteered more than 984,423 hours of service to County of Orange programs. The value of volunteerism can be seen throughout our community and is measured monetarily at an estimated $23 million in avoided costs for County government

The Orange County Board of Supervisors has selected the 36 individuals, 4 groups and 1 corporate partner listed on this site for special recognition on April 20, 2005. Our sincere thanks and appreciation are extended to those identified here and to all volunteers who give generously of their time, talents and energy in service to others.
