Position Description
Position Title: Law Clerk – Child Support Services (unpaid internship)

Child Support Services

Functions of Agency/Department:
The mission of Child Support Services is too enhance the quality of life for children and families by establishing and enforcing court orders for the financial and medical support of children in an effective, efficient and professional manner. Intern Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Prepare files and documentation for hearings
  • Provide assistance in courtroom setting
  • Prepare pleadings and responses in Law and Motion matters
  • Assist with special projects
  • Prepare Orders after Hearings
Educational Requirements:
Applicants must have completed two full years of studies at a law school, accredited by the ABA or the State Bar of California, or both, or have passed the First Year Law Students Examination.

Skills, Training or Qualifications:
Familiar with Westlaw, Lexis and MS Office XP (Word/Excel).

Time Commitment:
Minimum 15 to 20 hours per week for a period of three to six months. Hours must be scheduled during regular business hours (Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.).

Additional Comments:
Appointees will be required to pass a background investigation to the satisfaction of the agency.
