Animal Care Center Explorer Post #538 "As an Explorer, I've made great friends
and love working with all kinds of animals."
Orange County Animal Care Center Explorer Post #538 invites young adults between the ages of 14 and 21 to become part of an exciting program that offers opportunities for personal and career growth as well as community involvement.

As members of an educational and service oriented program, Explorers work with and learn about a variety of animals. They participate in special events and community activities. They learn animal control procedures and basic law enforcement. On occasion, Explorers observe the actual duties of Animal Control officers on "ride-alongs." The Explorer Program is a co-ed, special interest division of the Boy Scouts of America.
"The Explorer Program has given me work experience for many animal-related careers." Animal Care Center Explorer Post #538

In addition to regular meetings, the Explorers volunteer at the Animal Care Center several hours each month. They also provide valuable assistance at community events and enjoy educational activities such as field trips to various zoos and aquariums. Social activities such as camping excursions are part of the Explorer Program as well.

Members of the Explorer Program meet the first Thursday of every month from 7-8 p.m. at the Orange County Animal Care Center. The Center is located at 561 City Drive South in the city of Orange.
