The Orange County Registrar of Voters Office is seeking civic minded citizens who would like to get involved in the election process.

A precinct board consists of one inspector (who is in charge of the polling place) and three clerks. Duties include:

1. Setting up the polling place.
2. Locating the voter’s address on a street index and lining through the voter’s name.
3. Asking the voter to sign his/her name and address in the roster index.
4. Issuing the voter an access code to enable them to vote an electronic ballot and
5. Following the closing procedures at the close of the polls.

As a precinct officer you will receive training that will give you all you need to know about the polling place operation, voting equipment and the valuable work that is essential to conducting an election. Though election day is long, approximately 6:00 a.m. to 9:30 p.m., you will receive an honorarium for your time and commitment. For serving as a precinct inspector you will receive $100, other precinct officers are paid $75 for working on election day.
