The
Orange County Office of the District Attorney is
seeking a qualified investigator with Peace Officer
status under California Penal Code Section 830.35(a)
who is:

POSITION INFORMATION
A Welfare Fraud Investigator conducts investigations
relating to suspected fraudulent receipt of or
application for public assistance in order to obtain
and present facts and evidence to support
administrative action or prosecution.
The person selected for this position will be part
of a dynamic investigative team working under
direction to:
- Perform challenging investigative work resulting
in the prosecution of persons suspected of
fraudulently receiving or applying for public
assistance
- Collaborate with Social Service Workers and law
enforcement agencies along with District Attorney
legal staff
The person selected for this position must possess:
Detailed understanding of the Criminal Justice
System
Thorough knowledge of rules of evidence and
courtroom procedure, investigation techniques,
methods, and procedures
Demonstrated enthusiasm, innovation, and/or
creativity in your law enforcement career
Evidence of excellent collaborative skills
Significant criminal investigative experience
Ability to exercise exceptional judgment
Approachability, flexibility, and organizational
skills
Excellent interpersonal, interviewing, and
listening skills
Ability to successfully pass a background
investigation and psychological testing to the
satisfaction of the hiring authority.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
COMPENSATION: from
$5,373 monthly. Additional compensation up to .70
cents an hour is paid for positions requiring
bilingual skills.
- Spanish/English speaking applicants with
the ability to speak, read, write, and understand
fluent Spanish and English.
- Vietnamese/English speaking applicants
with the ability to speak, write, and understand
fluent Vietnamese and English.
- English speaking applicants with the
ability to speak, write, and understand fluent
English.
